The design was based on the desire of interactivity with the monumental character of Eptapyrgio with a minimum of interventions on site. The solution is a circular pathway, called the necklace, that leads the pedestrian around Eptapyrgio and its walls. Going in and out of the exterior walls, the pathway connects the ancient prison with its surroundings. The interest points are highlighted with plateaus or balconies offering a view on the city. The construction is made of concrete, corten steel and glass, and is completed by a range of low-height, self-maintained vegetation inspired of the byzantine era flora.
